“Octopus & the Moon : … why this title ? ! On the one hand, like many people (but few dare to admit it), at midnight on full moon nights, I turn into an octopus.

On the other hand and from a structural point of view, the piece links eight states of its evolution, waves, in other words flux and reflux, because it is not a question of developments. Each new sound state emerges and disappears.

This work is not in the usual use of a wind band but is certainly what I would often like to hear it play: a suspended, introspective and even intimate time, the richness of the nomenclature linked to this type of formation allowing an infinite search for sound colors and combinations. Eric Fischer
