The title of the work is an allusion to German composer Hanns Eisler’s exile work Quatorze mani\u00e8res de d\u00e9crire la pluie<\/em> (Fourteen Ways of Describing Rain). In four movements, the piece draws its inspiration not from the rain, but from the rock culture of the 1970s and 80s, in an attempt to revisit various facets of this popular musical expression and identify some of its archetypes: form, rhythm, energy, sound distortion, harmonic stability…<\/p>\n
