In the 1980s and 1990s, he regularly attended Pierre Boulez's classes at the Coll\u00e8ge de France and studied composition with Ivo Malec, Luis de Pablo, and Brian Ferneyhough. Since then, his works have been programmed at various French and international festivals and performed by numerous contemporary music ensembles (Aleph, Sic, Intercontemporain, L'instant donn\u00e9, Nomos, Motus, Arditti Quartet, Klangheimlich, Frullato, Xasax, Ars Nova N\u00fcrnberg, Ixtla, Slowind, Sixtrum, Hope, K\/D\/M, etc.) as well as by soloists such as Jean Geoffroy, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Stochl, Serge Bertocchi, Christophe Roy, Marianne Muller, Caroline Sageman, Philippe Cornus, Anthony Millet, Fabrice Ferez, Pierre Hamon, Florentino Calvo, etc.\r\n\r\nHis catalog includes pieces for soloists, numerous chamber music scores, vocal and orchestral music, as well as several works intended for learning (piano, clarinet, recorder, guitar, string quartet, violin, viola, cello, percussion, oboe, horn, trumpet, voice, etc.).\r\n\r\nIn 1998, Bruno Giner received the Herv\u00e9 Dugardin Prize awarded by SACEM, as well as the Paul-Louis Weiller Prize awarded in 2014 by the Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts of the Institut de France for his entire body of work.\r\n\r\nHis music most often reveals as carnal, sometimes virtuosic character, an energy channeled through the formalization of rigorous writing that does not prevent a more empirical approach to morphology and sound material. His most recent works include <a href=\"https:\/\/dhalmann.fr\/music\/en\/produit\/eclats-de-peaux-bruno-giner\/\"><em>\u00c9clats de peaux<\/em><\/a> for three percussionists (commissioned by the Ensemble Intercontemporain), <a href=\"https:\/\/dhalmann.fr\/music\/en\/produit\/pan-metamorphosis-bruno-giner\/\"><em>Pan M\u00e9tamorphosis<\/em><\/a> for orchestra (commissioned by Les Concerts de poche), <a href=\"https:\/\/dhalmann.fr\/music\/en\/produit\/sol-y-tierra-bruno-giner\/\"><em>Sol y Tierra<\/em><\/a> for cello, <a href=\"https:\/\/dhalmann.fr\/music\/en\/produit\/battle-150-bruno-giner\/\"><em>Battle 150<\/em><\/a> for ten instruments, and <a href=\"https:\/\/dhalmann.fr\/music\/en\/produit\/taiko-dream-bruno-giner\/\"><em>Ta\u00efko Dream<\/em><\/a> for large percussion ensemble (commissioned by the Laval metropolitan area). <a href=\"https:\/\/dhalmann.fr\/music\/en\/produit\/quatre-facons-de-decrire-le-rock-bruno-giner\/\"><em>Quatre fa\u00e7ons de d\u00e9crire le rock<\/em><\/a> for plectrum orchestra and <a href=\"https:\/\/dhalmann.fr\/music\/en\/produit\/folies-despagne-315-30-bruno-giner\/\"><em>Folies d'Espagne 315-30<\/em><\/a> for 2 mandolins, mandola and guitar (commissioned by Les Pinc\u00e9es musicales), and <a href=\"https:\/\/dhalmann.fr\/music\/en\/produit\/brax-bruno-giner\/\"><em>Brax<\/em> <\/a>for horn quartet (CNSMD graduation work).\r\n\r\nAlongside his compositional activities, Bruno Giner has regularly contributed to various music journals, encyclopedias, and record labels (The New Grove, La Lettre du Musicien, Les cahiers du CIREM, Musica falsa, Motus, etc.).
