Ha ! tsss – Thomas Holzinger

Nomenclature : wood blocks, tom-tom or snare drum without snare, bass drum.

Ensemble piece for three groups of players (1 group per voice) each with well-defined sounds:

Groupe 1 : Wood.

Groupe 2 : Heads + rims.

Groupe 3 : Low and deep heads.

For all of them is added the voice, of Japanese inspiration.

The work plays with the pulsation, the silences. The composition is based on the dialogue of the different groups as well as the “passage” of sounds within the rhythms which creates an eye/ear shift for the audience.
