Couleurs – Christian Hamouy

Seven easy pieces for mallets instruments with audio accompaniment.
Each piece is written for three differents levels with same accompaniment.

Each color represents music that will accompany three beggining levels of keyboard percussion instruments: xylophone, marimba, vibraphone.

The sound track recordings, resolutely contemporary, explore all the different styles of this music. Each time a “concert” version is proposed, declined for each piece with the xylophone recording which will serve for the interpreter to find himself with the accompaniment.

The parts written for percussion are not an end in themselves. The young musician, while respecting the score, will have his own interpretation of the piece. He may take liberties with phrasing, nuances and with added instruments and accessories.

The choice of mallets will depend on the acoustics of the room and the structure of the instrument. The indications given are an idea of the desired tone.
