Description
Trio Loco – Bruno Giner
Percussion trio
Two of the musicians (Percussion 1 & Percussion 2) face each other and play perpendicular to the audience. Percussion 3 is itself perpendicular to the other two, at the back, facing the audience. The instrumentation is minimal, adding body percussion and a variety of drumsticks to the seven headed instruments used.
The skin of the body, the natural heads of the instruments, the wood of the sticks: everything is a pretext to produce sound, an organic sound at the service of an energy and a virtuosity constantly renewed.
The general form is a great decrescendo of more than 9 minutes.
Five instruments (1 pair of bongos, 1 snare drum, 1 bass tom, 1 double-bass tom or bass drum) are arranged in a line.
Percussionists 1 & 2 play face to face, on opposite sides of the installation, like a mirror.
The distance and height of the toms should be adjusted so that everything can be played “flat” without too much difficulty. Percussionist 3 is equipped with a pair of congas set up perpendicular to the line formed by the five other instruments (he must also be able to play on the B. D.).
